I offer a range of services to my clients that begins with conceptual design, and finishes with a physical product. Woodworkers, Architects, Interior Designers, TV and Movie Producers, Industrial Designers, Jewelers, Artists, Hobbyists, and you, can all benefit from my skills. I strive to provide the best technical service that I can, even if it means that I end up advising myself out of some work in the process.




My work can begin from a phone conversation, a sketch on a napkin, AutoCAD drawings, or digital files created in any vector based program; files created with rendering, printing or fabrication in mind.







My machine is a 3 axis mechanical mill with an open-ended bed 106 inches in length, 50 inches wide, with approximately 7 inches of height clearance. The head is a 5 horsepower precision spindle, with a very flat torque curve. This means it retains most of its power at slow cutting speeds, giving the machine excellent performance in a wide variety of materials. With the use of special techniques I can produce results that would normally only be possible with 5 axis machines.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Panel processing: all holes drilled, mortised for hinges, shelves, etc.,and ready for edge banding and assembly.
Furniture: 2d profiling, or 3d carving of your pieces.
Engraving: designs and text produced on both flat and 3d surfaces.
Marquetry: designs produced from a multitude of materials with perfect friction fits.
Planing and jointing: machine levels and joints large slabs, removing 100% of all twist and bow, saving your back!
Signage: English style pub signs, channel letters, light boxes, large exterior cedar signs.

OTHER APPLICATIONS

Concrete forms and concrete furniture: Put text into concrete, create complex and curved forms.

Prototyping, mold making, custom crate building for shipping specialty items. Forms for creating boat hulls, Sculpting of architectural model bases, and components. Aircraft components / sheet metal forms.

General wood, plastic and metalworking services offered in a well-equipped shop. My high degree of hand skills top off what can be done with the CNC.
